Technique to alter brainwaves using a frequency difference between both ears.

Overview

Binaural Beats is a technology based upon signal transmission through acoustic waves. It aims to evoke an artificial frequency within the cortex so it directly affects the Brainwaves to induce certain emotioonal or mental states. Furthermore it causes hemisphere synchronicity so it directly affects the whole brains workings. This ‘binaural frequency’ ( bin_ƒ(x) ) is caused by two audible ‘carrier frequencies’ ( cƒ(1), cƒ(2) ) passing each one ear. Conventionally the carrier frequencies lay between 200 and 2000 Hz, depending on the medical and musical context. Both shall embody the shape of a sine wave, so no overtones interfere with the remaining frequency spectrum. Practical requirement is to have one stereo split or two mono audible outputs, each of them is directly put into one ear without the event of major interference with the other output. 

So, get a headphone in order to channel both carrier frequencies separated each into one ear.

Technical Definition

A Binaural Beat is caused when hearing two different sine waves as ƒ(1), ƒ(2) each on one ear and the following conditions are guaranteed: 

cƒ(1) ≠ cƒ(2)
cƒ(1) > cƒ(2)
cƒ(1) - cƒ(2) = bin_ƒ(x) = < 45Hz
If bin_ƒ(x) < 0 ->bin_ƒ(x)*(-1)
